Unorganized and only accessible by boat, the White Beach is the perfect choice for those who seek privacy and a stunning scenery! The blue water contrasts beautifully with the white rocks and the sand, and invite you to spend the whole day in this idyllic place. As far as amenities are concerned, there are sun beds and umbrellas that can be rented on site and… that’s it! Make sure to bring your sunscreen and cold water!
Just 4 km away from Fira, Exo Gialos beach is ideal to spend a day swimming and sunbathing away from the crowds. The black sand and pebbles, the volcanic rocks and the blue sea compose the perfect background to relax and unwind. Exo Gialos is well organized, with umbrellas, sunbeds and a beautiful beach bar restaurant where you take a break from swimming and enjoy your coffee, refreshing drinks and the delicious dishes of traditional greek cuisine
Lying under the Aegean sun, Vlychada beach is the pride of the island! Take some time to explore the surroundings and you will be fascinated by the lunar landscape with the black volcanic sand and the tall carved cliffs around the beach. The rocks, shaped by the strong winds and the waves, look like stunning sculptures of high artistic inspiration and create a sense of privacy. The beach is semi-organized with some umbrellas, sunbeds and some tavernas.
One of the island’s most popular beaches, where you can enjoy a day full of water sports like windsurfing, water skiing, snorkeling and paddle boats. It is at the foot of Mesa Vouno Mountain and it is easily accessible by bus from Fira. You can also find a big parking lot to leave your car. Spend your day here and enjoy the 5 km long beach with the black volcanic sand and the crystalline waters.
A long beach in the southeastern part of the island is divided into two successive bays, named Perivolos and Perissa. They both have deep sparkling waters and black lava sand, which is typical in Santorini beaches. Here you can find a wide range of facilities. Along the coast there are many restaurants and picturesque taverns, modern beach bars for chill out or intense fun. Here you can also test your skills in all sorts of water sports. Perissa and Perivolos beaches are widely popular among young people as the beach bars often host parties with well-known DJs and performers. Besides the vibrancy at the bars, there are also some quiet spots that offer the ideal scenery for romantic summer weddings!
Right next to the White Beach, Red Beach or Kokkini Paralia, as the locals call it, is one of the most photographed beaches on the island! The surrounding volcanic cliffs, the black and red pebbles and the red sand create a wild scenery that will remind you of images from Mars. Unfortunately access is prohibited due to landslides, but your can take a yacht cruise and see the beach from afar!
This quiet beach is located on the east coast of Santorini, about 9 kilometers from Fira and is ideal for families as kids can play safely on the sand and swim in the shallow waters. It took its name from a big rock upon which the church of Agios Ioannis was built. The beach is close to the popular Kamari, but is more peaceful and less crowded. A part of the beach is organized with sunbeds, umbrellas and a lifeguard tower while there are also basketball and volleyball courts offering endless hours of fun and playing. Nearby there are cafes, taverns and restaurants where you can taste traditional dishes.
Not a beach, but an amazing swimming spot next to Ammoudi village, right under Oia. Dive into the water and enjoy the sea and the stunning view of the caldera. After swimming visit one of the seafood restaurants and feast on fresh fish and local specialties.
